Licensing relief in Australia: make hay while the sun shines

by Victoria Smith|4 August 2022|Templates & Guidance

Did you know that if you are a fund manager considering raising funds or providing other financial services in Australia, you may qualify for relief as a “Foreign Financial Services Provider” based on your having FCA authorisations?

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission have recently extended the period of transitional relief to 31 March 2024. This will enable Foreign Financial Services Providers who have limited connection to Australia or have comparable financial obligations in other jurisdictions relief from holding an Australian Financial Services licence.

We are seeing a number of firms moving to provide financial services in Australia, and at Cleveland & Co, we are well placed to help firms capitalise on this great opportunity to enter the Australian market.

To learn more more about the process, as well as how Cleveland & Co can assist your firm to take advantage of the exemptions and become registered as a Foreign Financial Services Provider, please click HERE.
